Abstract: We discuss the problem of finding prime solutions to diophantine equations in many variables. This problem was studied by Hua in the case of diagonal forms, showing that every large integer can be written as a sum of sufficiently many prime powers of a fixed degree. The aim of this talk is to extend this result to non-diagonal forms, along the lines of the works of Schmidt and Birch on integer solutions to diophantine equations.
