Roads to Democracy(ies)
An Interdisciplinary Master's Programme (History, Political Science, Sociology)
"Roads to Democracy(ies)" is an interdisciplinary, international and research-oriented Master of Arts programme that combines methods and approaches from history, political science and sociology.
The two-year full-time programme is offered by the University of Siegen in cooperation with the University of Coimbra (Portugal). Exchange agreements with several additional partner universities exist.

Key Data of the Programme
Start date: Annually for the Winter Semester - 1st of October
(Please note, that introductory meetings may already take place in September. Candidates will be informed about the dates.)
Annual application deadline for studies beginning in October:
- 1st application deadline: 31 May (strongly recommended for non-EU students to allow sufficient time for visa procedures)
- 2nd application deadline:15 July
- 15 January 2013
Duration: 2 years/ 4 semesters

Degree: Master of Arts (M.A.)
Fees: No tuition fees are charged at University of Siegen since Winter Semester 2011/12. Students need to pay approx. 240 EUR administrative fees which include the semester ticket for free public transport. During the semester abroad no fees are charged.
