LLP-ERASMUS programme

Through the LLP-ERASMUS programme, University of Siegen works in partnership with some 140 universities in 27 European countries as part of the EU Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP).

LLP-ERASMUS students are exempted from tuition fees abroad. Usually they receive assistance with finding accommodation. LLP-ERASMUS students are also entitled to a mobility grant from the European Commission, which, however, does not usually cover all of the costs. Students who receive BAföG grants in Germany are also eligible for this mobility grant but should apply for BAföG grants for studying abroad (as distinct from the lesser BAföG grants for studying in Germany). Studies abroad can be for one or two semesters. First, you must choose the university where you would like to study. Then you should check whether any agreement with that university has been signed for your faculty or subject. You can apply for studies abroad in your major or minor subject. The language spoken in the host country is also a decisive factor. Some partner universities offer specific classes held in English.
