In collaboration with RWTH Aachen University, the Research Centre FoKoS at Siegen University aims to fill an open position for a

Research Fellow (Ph.D. student or Post-Doc)

(salary scale 13 TV-L)

The position is limited to an initial 36 month period with an option for renewal, provided external project funding can be secured. The duration of employment is determined by the regulations of the German Temporary Employment in Science Law . The position is co-financed by Aachen and Siegen Universities and located at either Aachen or Siegen.

The position is part of a research project “Global Resource Governance”. The project focuses on aspects related to securing the energy supply for industrial nations, such as setting up rules at the global and national level (governance), the economic, social, political and institutional effects of energy in producing countries, and cooperation at the regional, national and supranational levels.

You are expected to:

  • Develop an independent research project in the area of Global Resource Governance

  • Contribute to connecting research activities at the Universities of Aachen and Siegen

  • Prepare independent academic publications

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate tutorials (2 hours per week)

You have:

  • An outstanding Master’s degree or doctoral dissertation in economics

  • An international research focus, demonstrated by research visits abroad and/or conference visits

  • The ability to work in a team

  • Profound knowledge of theoretical and/or empirical research methods

  • Preferably experience with the application for third-party funding and project coordination
