In this workshop, you will get to know the core principles and practices of up to date Academic Higher Education in Germany. We will apply these to your current or future classes and look at structured ways of planning a class, lesson and sequence coherently. Our central focus will be how to enhance the motivation and active participation of students in their learning process. We will apply and evaluate, view and discuss a large range of activating methods for specific purposes in your classes, such as initiating discussions, working with texts, and illustrating the outcomes of students learning progress during a running semester by means of evaluation methods and assessment.
- We will identify ways to promote students compliance to develop and carry out successful presentations and term papers, i.e. by providing meaningful feedback along defined criteria. By the end of this workshop, you will be able to create classrooms that allow your students to participate in English actively, even when English is not their native language.
