Background informations

General information about the GUI

This graphical user interface is written in TCL/TK (version 8.4). To create the plots the package BLT (version 2.4) was used. The main program is separated in two scriptfiles. The file Dipolrechner_v???? contains the graphical part of the program. The procs.tcl contains the general prcedures that are used. The pictures of the pulse sequences are painted with the program xfig and exorted as a TCL/TK canvas. These files have the extention .tk. The last two files to run the progam are text files, which contain the kappa-values for the diffrent puls sequences. It is possible to extended these files with new kappa values of new R- or S-sequences. You can enter this values direct in the text files. Non existing values has to canceled by typing an "x". All rows and colums in the files has to be complete (means same number of in each rows or colum). The menu will be updated with the next start of the program.

Formulas forming the basis of the calculations

Approximation of the double-quantum dephasing function for a pulse sequence using the INADEQUATE pulse sequence to excite double-quantum-coherence using a series expansion to the 12th degree before applying the powder integral.

\begin{eqnarray*}
\frac{S_{DQ}(\tau_{1}=0,\tau_{2}=\tau)}{S_{DQ}(\tau_{1}=\frac{...
...97(\kappa\nu_{dip}\tau)^{10}-1042.1838(\kappa\nu_{dip}\tau)^{12}
\end{eqnarray*}

Approximation of the double-quantum dephasing function for pulse sequence using the symmetrie based pulse sequences to excite double-quantum-coherence using a series expansion before applying the powder integral:

\begin{eqnarray*}
\frac{S_{DQ}(\tau_{1}=0,\tau_{2}=\tau)}{S_{DQ}(\tau_{1}=\frac{...
...
& & +5635312.6\kappa^{18}\nu_{dip}^{18}\tau^{10}\tau_{exc}^{8}
\end{eqnarray*}

The expansion is given for equal conversion times, i.e. $\tau_{exc}=\tau_{recon}$

For more information about the formula see [1] and the supplementary data.
