General and Educational Psychology
Welcome to the Chair of General and Educational Psychology!
The subdiscipline of General Psychology, as emphasized in the unit led by Professor Dr. Hennecke, is concerned with the description, explanation, and prediction of the psychological foundations of motivation and self-regulation as well as their development across the lifespan. Besides their importance for the overall understanding of the human mind, motivation and self-regulation also play an important role in all fields of work of psychologists. This includes ties to the applied subdiscipline Educational Psychology when it comes to subjects like mastery and achievement orientation, self-regulated learning, or the design of health-promoting interventions.
