Application Procedure
IThe Erasmus+ Program allows student exchanges of one
semester or an academic year at partner institutions in the EU
and participating program countries such as Switzerland.
The exchange spot includes an
Erasmus+ grant. Grant rates depend on the country of
destination. Top-ups for
sustainable travel and students with
Fewer Opportunities are available yet subject to sufficient
funding.
Application Deadlines
Students apply in the winter semester for studies at
partner universities in Europe during the next academic
year, in the summer semester remaining seats are
advertised.

Selection
The application selection takes place in the respective
departments on the basis of the submitted application
documents and possibly individual interviews according to
defined selection criteria.

Offer
After all departments have reported back, the students will be informed about the outcome of the selection and invited to accept a seat offer on the portal. Seat Offers 2023/24

Nomination
After the distribution of seats, the selected students
are nominated at the partner universities by the
International Office. Nominated students then receive
further information on the application procedure abroad
from our partner universities. See Step 2.
Nomination Deadlines 2023/24
Nominations are submitted in accordance with
deadlines abroad! Nomination/application deadlines
and procedures vary depeding on country of destination and
partner university. Make sure to check the relevant
information provided by our partner university! Students
applying in winter for an exchange in the following summer
semester may be nominated at a later date.

Online Application
Students need to register with the moveon Outgoing Portal to start an online application. Choose your login information carefully! If your application is successful you will need to access the portal to accept an offer and to document your planned studies abroad!
Letter of motivation
For each of the three stay wishes, a letter of
motivation must be submitted in the language of instruction
or English respectively.
The letter is addressed to the respective Departmental Coordinator who is
responsible for the selection of the applications.
The students describe their study plans abroad. If
possible, they already indicate courses from the course
catalogue of the host university that they want to take
during their studies abroad.
Curriculum vitae
The CV must be submitted in the language of
instruction or English repectively.
The CV contains all important information on studies,
internships, language skills and social commitment.
Certificate of Enrolment
The certificate of enrolment (Studienbescheinigung) can
be downloaded in unisono in the "My studies"
section under "Student Service" and "Reports".
The study programme at the University of Siegen must
correspond with the subject area at the host university
according to the details of the stay opportunity.
Applications for non-departmental stay opportunities will
be rejected.
List of Achivements
The list of achievements (Leistungsübersicht) can be
downloaded in unisono in the "My studies" section under
"Student Service" and "Reports".
First-semester students instead submit the last certificate
(High school or Bachelor's) with a Transcript of Records.
For the selection, the grades in the degree programme and
the previous course of studies are taken into account.
If necessary, a letter of recommendation from a lecturer
can be submitted.
Language certificate
High school diplomas or bachelor's degree certificates
as well as OOPT tests are accepted as language certificates
for applications for studies at partner universities in
Europe.
All students must already fulfil the language requirements
according to the specifications of the
respective stay opportunity at the time of
application.

Before applying for stay opportunities, which are
supervised by Prof. Dr
Averkorn as Departmental Coordinator, it
is obligatory to have a consultation with
Mr Kernchen at the Erasmus Office for History.
