The Rector

The Rector represents the University of Siegen externally and internally. He is responsible for the management as well as for the overall strategic and structural development of the University. The Rector exercises domestic authority and is the chairman of the Rectorate and the Senate. The Rector is the supervisor of the academic staff and responsible for appointments. Prof. Dr. Holger Burckhart has been the Rector of the University of Siegen since 2009. Together, the Rector and the Prorectorate for Education are responsible for the area of diversity.
