Research profile of the faculty
Second research and transfer report
The Faculty of Education - Architecture - Arts at the University of Siegen offers an unusual interdisciplinary arrangement in the landscape of German higher education: the spatial, social and art-related affinities of a number of scholars led to the joining of the subjects of education, psychology, architecture, art and music in 2011 to form the new Faculty II of the University of Siegen. Since then, these disciplines have unfolded remarkable dynamics in research and teaching.
Under the heading of "Shaping Community", the faculty pursues, among other things, a broader perspective on inclusion, which, in addition to pedagogical aspects, also addresses psychological, spatial and cultural aspects. Furthermore, knowledge transfer between university and society is of particular importance and includes numerous exhibitions, concerts, lectures and conferences, which show a clear presence of Faculty II as well as the University in the city of Siegen and in Germany as well as on the international terrain.
