Master Degree Programs (planned)

You finished your bachelor's and would now like to deepen your field of expertise? You probably have the opportunity, from the WS 2020/2021 on, to participate in a master's program in the School of Life Sciences.

The master's program of the School of Life Sciences Siegen offers the opportunity to deepen already acquired knowledge and to develop interdisciplinary skills for your particular specialization. The 4-semester master programs are, like bachelor programs, of a modular structure, study and examination results are expressed in credits according to the ECTS system. The study is completed with a master's thesis.

The School of Life Sciences Siegen is currently developing three master degree programs, which, for instance, deepen the knowledge gained following the Siegen Bachelor Program Digital Biomedical and Health Sciences. Which other bachelor degrees meet the admission requirements for the three master programs is currently being examined.

Digital Medical Technology

The study imparts in-depth research and development expertise for solution approaches in the fields of computer science or technology for innovative digitally supported medical and healthcare services. There is a close cooperation with the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. The aim of this study program is to provide a solid knowledge of the digital innovation possibilities of modern medicine.

Biomedical Technology

This master's program provides knowledge in the field of applied biomedical research and thus supports the Siegen project "Rethinking Medicine". The goal of this master's degree is to build solid expertise on the molecular causes of disease in order to explore these using the methods of molecular and cell biology learned in the program, as well as bioinformatic and digital imaging microscopy techniques. On this basis, research and development expertise in the field of biotechnology will be taught in order to identify and implement new approaches for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases.

Digital Public Health

Public health is an independent, highly interdisciplinary, empirical science. The health of the population is in the foreground. Research and teaching are focused on the conditions for health and disease and the possibilities of coping with the disease, strengthening health literacy and promoting health. Digital solutions are also of particular significance in these studies.
