The Institute of Software Technology and Database Systems
at the University of Siegen is actively pursuing
state-of-the-art research in the field of software
engineering. It is involved in several funded research
projects funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG).
The topic areas include data and process modeling,
architectural design and database systems, meta-modeling,
version management, environments for model-based
development, and selected optimization problems.

Institute of Knowledge Based Systems and Knowledge Management, University of Siegen
Germany
The institute of Knowledge Based Systems &
Knowledge Management (KBS & KM) at the university
of Siegen encompasses theories, techniques and methods
from a variety of fields such as information retrieval,
knowledge discovery, competence and innovation
management, recommendation systems, organizational
learning, cognitive science and sustainability. In
particular KBS&KM is in cooperation with industrial
partners such as semiconductor manufacturing and steel
production to develop and adapt Knowledge Management
(KM) solutions for industrial requirements. Also
KBS&KM has been involved in fostering medical
engineering and on-the-job training of medical staff in
cooperation with clinics of neurosurgery. The developed
solutions are mainly dealing with knowledge discovery
in databases, text-mining, process-mining, web-mining
as well as Business Intelligence, Cloud Computing and
Big Data analytics.

Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH)

Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) is the
largest university in Greece, with more than 80,000
undergraduate and postgraduate students, more than
2,000 research faculty members and more than 1,500
employees providing administrative and technical
services. AUTH has a long history of education and
research in all scientific fields. The Department of
Informatics is the newest department in the Faculty of
Sciences. The continuous efforts of the personnel have
made it reputable at national and international level.
The department has been evaluated as “an excellent
department, one of the best in the country” by Hellenic
Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education. The
research groups participating in the project are the
"Statistics & Information Systems" (STAINS) and the
“Software Engineering” (SWENG) group. The researchers
of these groups have extensive experience in areas
related to software like requirements, design,
development, management, metrics, analysis and testing.

Founded in 1979, it is recognized as one of Spain's
most modern and innovative public universities, with
around 30,000 students taking one of 32 university
degrees offered by the faculties and university
schools, and more than 4000 international students
every year.
The Centro Superior de Idiomas de la Universidad de
Alicante (The University of Alicante Language Centre)
offers, since 1995, a range of different services in
the field of foreign languages to the whole university
community. Its main goal is to create a flexible
academic-administrative structure to fulfill the
University's needs in the field of foreign languages
and to facilitate its incorporation into the European
Space for Higher Education.
The activities of the Center are focused on the
following areas:
A) Training in foreign languages (English, French,
German, Italian, Arab and Russian) and Spanish as a
foreign Language, with more than 3000 students per
year.
B) Preparing candidates for International language
exams and even examining students on the campus,
through agreements with institutions (British Council,
Goethe Institute, ACLES…etc), with more than 1500
candidates per year.
C) Providing to University of Alicante teaching and
administrative staff in the field of foreign languages.
D) Support to the University of Alicante in the
reception and assistance (accommodation, visas,
cultural activities...) of foreign students and
teachers.
E) Translation and revision of research papers and
other documents.
