Successful Completion of New Noise Prediction Tool (2010-08-06)
In our subtask 2.1 we aimed at efficient prediction of
near-field tonal fan noise. A novel model was developped and
validated by the partners VKI
, LMS and ECL. The completion of this task also
marks our second milestone. The prediction tool developped is a
success in itself, but will also be used in future work within
ECOQUEST.
1st Work Package 3 Meeting in Kiel (2010-03-11/12)
At Voith Turbo Lokomotivtechnik GmbH & Co. KG in Kiel, we discussed the thermal and acoustic optimization of cooling systems.
1st Work Package 2 Meeting in Lyon (2010-03-11/12)
The two-day technical WP2 meeting took place 11th and 12th of March 2010 at Ecole Centrale de Lyon. The consortium members presented the work done so far and discussed how to proceed further. The progress regarding prediction of tonal fan noise was treated with special interest as this is the main objective in Milestone 2. Thanks to good work by LMS we are about to achieve all technical goals on schedule.
Project Kick-Off Metting (2010-01-20/21)
The first milestone is reached! At our kick-off meeting at von Karman Institute for Fluid Dynamics the consortium agreed on common objectives and further steps. Our technical officer from the European Commission, Mr. William Bird, was our guest at the first day of the meeting. With pleasure we got to know that he feels comfortable about the project and the kick-off meeting.
A set of work package meetings will follow in order to
co-ordinate the technical work within the respective work
packages.
Project Start (2009-12-01)
ECOQUEST officially starts 2009-12-01. In the next 42 months
we will work hard to meet our ambitious goals. The official
project closure will be 2013-05-31.
