Subprojects
The outlined topic of this project is divided into three subprojects. Each single subproject will pursue a historically orientated approach, as well as examine contemporary literature and thereby establish a synchronic axis. All three sections are guided concepts, which are described as “narrative modes” (Taylor 2004, 175ff) and applied to the social imaginary of modern Western European societies by Appadurai and Taylor: democracy, secularism, and Europe. The following sections will introduce the implications of Taylor’s concept, which will form the leading questions of the subprojects.
