Prof. Burckhart Again Confirmed as Vice-President of the German Rector’s Conference (HRK)

The Siegen university Rector Prof. Dr. Holger Burckhart will remain at the head of the German Rectors' Conference (HRK) until the end of 2018.

The German Rectors' Conference (HRK) continues to trust Prof. Dr. Holger Burckhart. The General Assembly of the HRK has again confirmed the rector of the University of Siegen in his office. Prof. Burckhart will remain Vice-President until November 30, 2018. Also Prof. Dr. Ulrike Beisiegel, President of the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen, was re-elected as Vice President for “Governance and University Management”.

Prof. Burckhart has been head of the department "Teaching and Studies, Teacher Training and Lifelong Learning" since 2012. His work focuses, among other things, on the continuation of the European University Reform and the professionalization of inclusion in the context of teacher education. "I am very pleased about this election and the trust associated with it," said Prof. Burckhart.

The German Rectors' Conference is the voluntary association of state-run and state-recognized universities in Germany. The HRK deals with all topics that affect the role and tasks of universities in science and society. Through his work, Prof. Burckhart is excellently networked at the federal level. The active participation and the presence in responsible committees increases the visibility of the University of Siegen in Germany.
