Description:

The International Environmental Management Education (IEME) Intensive is a two-week course focused on the environment as the thematic area of study. The objectives are to create and encourage interdisciplinary teamwork and build student competency in environmental problem solving. The target groups are students from different countries and from a variety of disciplines.

Week one consists of lectures and group work, where students become familiar with environmental management systems. Further topics include aspects of sustainability, corporate social responsibility, eco-efficiency, accounting, integration into other management systems, and supply chain management.

Week two includes presentations and written solutions to current relevant European case studies and a visit to a company that has an integrated environmental management system, in order to demonstrate the use of management systems applications in solving organizational environmental problems.
