IEME Objectives:

  • To improve the quality and increase the volume of student and teaching staff mobility throughout Europe and the world
  • To improve the quality and volume of multilateral cooperation between higher education institutions in the area of environmental management and sustainable development
  • To create and encourage interdisciplinary teamwork and build student competency in environmental problem solving
  • To increase student learning of global sustainable development through applying real world concepts in a multidiscipline and multicultural setting
  • To teach the importance of a student's ability to understand systems thinking and cultural diversity in environmental problem solving
Students participating in the IEME will be involved in the activities of organizational assessment, auditing and analysis, creating in-dept case studies, and networking with students, faculty, business personnel, and community and government leaders from various countries. Through learning about and understanding international environmental management system standards and global sustainability efforts those who participate in the IEME will increase their international skills in sustainable development initiatives. The IEME will be linked through student and faculty exchanges, the Internet, an intranet protocol for video conferencing, case study presentations, and other information technology based tools, which will enrich international education.
