4^th Reimut Jochimsen Prize

In honor of the renowned economist

Professor Dr. Dr. h. c. Reimut Jochimsen

and as a memorial to his service as its President, the Düsseldorf

Regional Office of the Deutsche Bundesbank will award a prize for the best paper on the topic

European Infrastructure Policy

Challenges for Future Energy Markets in the European Community

This announcement is addressed to authors who are searching for ways of creating an economically efficient, socially fair and ecologically sound infrastructure for the European economies. The paper may already be published.

The prize sum is 5,000 euros which may be divided, if more than one paper is selected.

Papers should be submitted in standard electronic form (PDF, PS, Word document; 12 pt./1.5 space) to Professor em. Dr. Walter Buhr, University of Siegen, 57068 Siegen, Germany, until October 15, 2008 (buhr@vwl.wiwi.uni-siegen.de). Each paper should be accompanied by a brief curriculum vitae of its author(s). Collaborators of the members of the Reading Committee may not participate in the competition. Recourse to legal action is excluded.

The papers will be judged by a Reading Committee consisting of the President of the Düsseldorf Regional Office of the Deutsche Bundesbank and of three scholars formerly associated with Professor Jochimsen (cf. also www.uni-siegen.de/infrastructure_research).
