About Siegen
A city in the south Westphalian part of North Rhine-Westphalia, in the basin of the upper reaches of the river Sieg. The city is ruled over by two castles. The “Upper Castle” is a fortified hilltop castle, which has been home to a regional museum for art and cultural history since 1905. A particular focus is placed on the life and works of the Baroque painter Peter Paul Rubens who was born in Siegen in 1577. Siegen is famous for its historic half-timbered houses and its winding alleyways.
The Meeting Place
The event takes place in the research center "Shaping the Future" of the University of Siegen. The research center is based on a joint cooperation between the University of Siegen, the State North Rhine-Westphalia and the "Sparkassenstiftung Zukunft"
(Foundation "Future" of Sparkasse Siegen). The aim of the center is to foster the multidisciplinarity of research at the University of Siegen and to expand its international network.
How to find it
Going by car use the B54n (Hüttentalstraße) to Siegen-Weidenau, junction Netphen/ University and follow the B62n towards Netphen. Turn right to Weidenau. At the traffic light turn right and before the junction with the traffic light drive into the parking lot on
the right-hand side. You may leave your car there for fee. The Building is next to the parking lot.
Using the train you may get off of the train at the station Siegen-Weidenau. Once you leave the station the main street infront of you is Weidenauer Straße. Keep walking to the right direction for few minutes and you will see the building on your right-hand side.

Going by Bus
You can reach the meeting place using several busses. The best way to get to the meeting place is to take the bus R10 and to get off of the bus at the station Haardter Brücke which is directly infront of the research center. Alternavely you may take one of the other bus routes to get to Weidenau ZOB and walk for few minutes.

The Best Western Park Hotel is a few minutes' walk away from Siegen Mainstation (Siegen ZOB). You also may take bus C125 at the station P+R Siegerlandhalle to Siegen ZOB and subsequently take the R10 or one of the busses listed above.
