Joint Project: DRK and University of Siegen Supporting Ukrainian Youths
(23.03.2023) The German Red Cross (DRK) for Siegen-Wittgenstein and the University of Siegen’s FabLab have put together an extracurricular program for Ukraine refugee youths. For one year, the youths will be shown and given the chance to experiment with technologies such as 3D printing and robotics.
Central Point of Contact for Start-Ups at the University of Siegen

University students and employees can draw on helpful assistance in moving from initial concept to opening the doors of a newly founded company.
Shedding New Light on Viruses
(15.12.2022) Professor Dr. Charlotte Uetrecht from the University of Siegen is studying the structures of proteins and protein complexes in coronaviruses and noroviruses, and how they change over the viral lifecycle. She is developing a new method to obtain as much information as possible about states of these viral building blocks which only exist briefly.
FabLabs Launching International Partnership
(14.12.2022) FabLabs, Makerspaces, and Design Factories from five countries are launching a new European partnership, to be coordinated by the University of Siegen. The goal is to provide greater access to the creative workshops at the national and international levels.
