Team STARTING

The Department of Student Admission, Registration and Training in German Language (STARTING) is part of the Student Services at the University of Siegen. We welcome students from abroad in the International Registrar's Office and prepare them for their studies at the University of Siegen by offering German language courses at different levels. You can find us on the Campus Adolf-Reichwein-Straße (AR) in the Student Service Centre (SSC).

Our Services

• Student affairs for foreign students
• Advice on application and admission to higher education for applicants with a foreign school or university degree
• Admission to studies for foreign students
• Enrolment, issuing the USi-Card, re-registration, leave of absence, change of degree programme and exmatriculation
• Organisation and implementation of preparatory German language courses (levels B1 to C2)
• Conducting the "Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang ausländischer Studienbewerber" (DSH) (German Language Test for University Admission for Foreign Applicants)
• Pre-studies for new immigrants
• Project "Starthelfer
