Department 6.3 STARTING

The Department of Student Admission, Registration and Training in German Language (STARTING) welcomes students from abroad with the coordinator study-start and the International Registrar's Office. STARTING prepares foreigners for their studies at the University of Siegen by offering German language courses at different levels in order to start bachelor's or master's programs. 

Our Services

• Student affairs for foreign students
• Advice on application and admission to higher education for applicants with a foreign school or university degree
• Admission to studies for foreign students
• Enrolment, communication with health-insurances, re-registration, leave of absence, change of degree programme and exmatriculation
• Organisation and implementation of preparatory German language courses (levels B1 to C2)
• Conducting the "Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang ausländischer Studienbewerber" (DSH) (German Language Test for University Admission for Foreign Applicants)
• Pre-studies for new immigrants
• PASCH-Network | "International macht Schule" (BIDS)
