When can I start taking courses for the Gender Studies certificate?
Ideally, courses for the certificate should be taken starting in the 3rd semester. The reasons why are as follows: The certificate is a voluntary additional qualification, which of course needs additional work. Hence, it is probably better not advised to start the certificate in the first semester, which is possible, nonetheless.
I already took and finished some courses from the Gender Studies departement in my past semester(s). Can they be added to my certificate?
Since it is mandatory to bring a qualified additional work, already finished courses can not be added to the certificate „Gender Studies“.
In which time should I finish the necessary courses for the Gender Studies certificate?
Because the intention of acquiring the certificate is to get deeply involved with the topic gender, studying the courses for this certificate should not take longer than 3 semesters.
Can I also take courses for the certificate while I am studying abroad?
If you’re planning a semester abroad, you can also acquire points for the Gender Studies certificate as long as the courses fit thematically of the certificate module. Please contact the department of study coordination – best before you start the semester abroad – to plan the accurate process.
How do I apply for the certificate and where can I do that?

How can my acquired points be added?
Once you have finished your seminar, your course instructor needs to sign the Papierschein (which you can download here). That means you do not have to sign up for the SL in unisono to acquire the certificate.
I accomplished all necessary courses and seminars. How and where can I pick up my certificate?
You have two options: Either you make an appointment with your department of study coordination to hand in your documents personally. Or you can send them per post. Your certificate will then be filled in, signed by the spokesperson of Gestu_S, the appropriate dean and rector and you will receive an e-mail as soon as you can pick it up. Under the current circumstances of the Corona-Pandemic we offer the option to send the certificate to you via post.
