Invitation to Happy Hour - English Literary Studies -

Wednesdays 5-7 pm (from May 21), AR-IF 115

Dear students,

summer is just around the corner – yet the campus around the AR-IF building remains rather sad and lifeless. There are few opportunities here for students to engage with English literature and culture outside the limiting context of seminars, LPs, and competition.

Thus, we decided to take a step towards changing that!

From now on, we would like to cordially invite you to join us for teatime and a chat the third Wednesday of every month between 5 and 7 pm.

We hope that, together, we can create a space for all of us that facilitates conversation and a sense of community – a space where we can meet on common ground. Be it to discuss your favourite books or poems, talk about current political issues, or simply hang out and vibe, everybody is welcome. Let us all take an active part in shaping our time at university into a positive, enjoyable experience. And who knows? Perhaps, with time, this will grow into a fun tradition.

Our first meeting is going to take place on Wednesday, 21 May 2025, from 5-7 pm.
Drop in whenever you like and stay as long as you please!
We will meet at AR-IF 115 for now, but depending on how many people decide to come, we might move to other rooms or – if the weather permits – find a nice, sunny place to relax outdoors.

So, if this sounds like your cup of tea (no pun intended), please spread the word and consider joining us on Wednesday. The more, the merrier!
