Notice: Hector Research Career Development Award

The Hector Research Career Development Award will be awarded for the first time this year by the Hector Fellow Academy: The aim is to promote and support the scientific career of researchers in the natural and engineering sciences, medicine or psychology at an important point in their career.

(11 August 2020) Requirements:

• W1 junior professors (with and without tenure track) and junior research group leaders
• Research in the fields of STEM (MINT), medicine or psychology
• The excellent doctorate was awarded no more than 7 years ago
• Employment at a German university or comparable research institution that supports the application
• Qualification to supervise doctoral students

Award detailsstrong> The award will be given to 3-5 scientists, of whom at least 50 percent will be female. The award is endowed as follows:

• One-time payment of EUR 25,000 to support research
• Material equipment budget of EUR 9,500 per year
• Financial support for a doctoral position (see DFG guidelines)
• Awardees are accepted as members of the Hector Fellow Academy (HFA) for a period of five years and benefit from the interdisciplinary network for top-level research. It is possible to apply for further funding formats.
