The University of Siegen announces, through the House of Young Talents, scholarships to promote excellent master's students and doctoral researchers.

(26 November 2020) The House of Young Talents (HYT), the postgraduate centre of the University of Siegen, announces up to five doctoral and up to five master's scholarships within the framework of the HYT Young Academy scholarship programme. The deadline for applications is 21 January 2021. Funding starts on 1 April 2021. Excellent students who are at the beginning of their master's studies as well as excellent doctoral researchers who want to tackle their dissertation project will be supported. The scholarship programme HYT Young Academy is a support programme for the entry into a scientific career at the University of Siegen and consists of financial and non-material support.

Scholarships are awarded across faculties and subjects and are designed for doctoral researchers for a period of up to three years, for Master's students for the respective standard period of study, however, a maximum of two years. Doctoral researchers receive 1500 EUR per month for up to three years, Master's students receive 400 EUR per month for a variable period (depending on the course of study) of up to two years. In addition, study- or research-related expenses, e.g. for books or research and conference trips, can be reimbursed up to 750 EUR per funding year (scholarships for master's students) or 1500 EUR per funding year (scholarships for doctoral researchers). In addition to the financial support, non-material support is an important component. There is an interdisciplinary programme of events for the scholarship recipients to support the first steps into an academic career.
