The House of Young Talents welcomes ten new scholarship recipients

(20 April 2021) Since 1 April 2021, five Master's students and five doctoral researchers can look forward to the material and non-material support of the HYT Young Academy. Instead of a semester reception with a lecture, the ceremonial greeting and ensuing conversations at the reception, Dr. Friederike Brodhun and Dr. Marcus Niechciol warmly welcomed the new scholarship recipients in a Zoom conference.

A cheerful round of getting to know each other in breakout rooms created a relaxed atmosphere and a sense of community right at the start, despite the digital format. As part of the non-material support, the scholarship recipients will also have the opportunity to exchange ideas with each other in the future – virtually again in the summer semester.

The semester programme is supposed to give the scholarship recipients new perspectives from other departments: The mentors illustrate topics from the various research areas at the University of Siegen and, for the first time, former scholarship recipients report about their paths after the Young Academy. An online “Stammtisch” allows personal and professional exchange and rounds off the programme. All alumnae and alumni of the Young Academy are cordially invited to attend the alumni reports and the online “Stammtisch”.
