Study Abroad
Studies abroad at non-partner universities are self-organized and often tuition-based. Please note that students who opt for study abroad are not eligible for Erasmus Grants or PROMOS Scholarships !
Application Procedure
Studies abroad outside our exchange programs do not require a prior application with the International Office of the University of Siegen. You apply directly at the respective institution abroad. Check application requirements and deadlines well in advance!
When researching your options, make sure to look for information targeted at non-exchange students. In continental Europe the term "free mover" often describes studies abroad outside established exchange programs. You may also find information for "visiting students" or "non-degree students".
Placement Programs
Third-party placement programs support students looking for study abroad options. Sometimes tuition waivers are offered for selected universities abroad. Services may be limited to German nationals.

Please note that students who opt for studies abroad at a university that does not hold an exchange agreement with the University of Siegen are not eligible for Erasmus Grants or PROMOS scholarships.
