Master's and PhD Students: Apply Now for Scholarships

The University of Siegen announces scholarships, by the House of Young Talents, to promote excellent master's and PhD students.

The House of Young Talents (HYT), the graduate centre of the University of Siegen, announces up to five doctoral and ten master's scholarships within the framework of the HYT Young Academy scholarship program. The application deadline is 24 June 2019. Funding starts on 1 October 2019. Excellent students who are at the beginning of their master's studies, as well as excellent doctoral students who want to tackle their dissertation project, will be supported. The scholarship program HYT Young Academy is a support program for the entry into a scientific career at the University of Siegen and consists of financial and non-material support.

Scholarships are awarded across faculties and subjects and are designed for doctoral students for a period of two years, for Master's students for the respective standard period of study, however, not exceeding two years. Doctoral students receive 1500 Euro per month for two years, Master's students receive 400 Euro per month for a variable period (depending on the course of study) of up to two years. In addition, study- or research-related expenses, e.g. for books or research and conference trips, can be reimbursed up to 750 Euro per funding year (scholarships for master's students) or 1500 Euro per funding year (scholarships for PhD students). In addition to the financial support, non-material support is an important component. There is an interdisciplinary program of events for the scholarship recipients to support the first steps into an academic career.
