New Study Space for Students

Leo AR is located in the former Caféteria ct.

The Studierendenwerk and the University of Siegen are opening three new gathering spots for students.

Over the course of summer semester 2023, these three new ‘Leos’ (a play on the German word Lernort) will offer fresh spaces for learning, working, or simply meeting on the university’s campuses. The first three Leos will be on the AR, H, and PB campuses. Each will also offer food service courtesy of the Studierendenwerk.

Leo AR: Leo AR is in the former Caféteria ct, across from the Bistro, and opened on 11 April.

Hours of operation: Monday to Friday, 8 am to 6 pm. From 10:30 am to 5 pm visitors can choose from vegetarian and vegan offerings, including coffee specialties with soy or oat milk.

Leo H will open during the summer semester in the former Caféteria H (3rd floor above ground level)

The hours of operation for Leo H align with those for the Hölderlin building itself (7:00 am to 8 pm). The food offerings will be limited to a vending machine stocked by the Studierendenwerk (card payment).

Leo PB will open in the current Caféteria PB. Efforts are underway to extend its hours of operation as well.

Students from the architecture department are currently working on designs for the space. Those concepts are based on wishes expressed by students who use that campus.
