Award for teacher of the University of Siegen
Khanh-Duc Kuttig of the English Department at the University of Siegen is the recipient of the TESOL 2021 Teacher of the Year Award. She is the first teacher working outside the U.S. to receive this award.
Khanh-Duc Kuttig, a language teacher in the English Department, is the recipient of the TESOL 2021 Teacher of the Year Award. TESOL is an international association of professionals that promotes the quality of English language teaching through professional development, research, standards and advocacy.
The $1,000 award was established by TESOL and National Geographic Learning to recognize and honor exceptional English teachers. The requirements for applicants are rigorous. For example, they are expected to bring innovative and effective teaching strategies and evaluation techniques by using new scientific knowledge from TESOL or related fields. Despite the high level of competition, Khanh-Duc Kuttig is the first non-U.S-based teacher to receive this award.
