Welcome Day for EMINENT students in Siegen

On March 24, we warmly welcomed the first cohort of the EMINENT Master's programme to their second semester at the University of Siegen! The Welcome Day began with a welcome and introduction by Prof. Peter Haring Bolívar at the Center for Sensor Systems (ZESS). Prof. Thomas Seeger, Vice Dean for International Affairs at Faculty 4, then introduced himself and warmly welcomed the new students.

The students then received an overview of the semester contents. Faria Afzal, the contact person for international students at Faculty 4, gave valuable tips for settling in in Germany and at the University of Siegen. Dr. Daniel Stock presented the platforms Unisono and Moodle to facilitate course organisation. In addition, Ms. Berg from the examination office provided information about exam registration and procedures. Jessica Berger presented the wide range of courses offered by the language centre, and Ilka Kureck, coordinator of the EMINENT programme, explained the selection of specialisation tracks and the evaluation of the first semester.

In the afternoon, the students explored their new campus: they gained exciting insights during a tour of the ZESS laboratories, discovered important places during a campus tour and exchanged ideas with contact persons over lunch in the cafeteria.
