• 10/2010: Rolf-Kentner Dissertation Prize for outstanding contributions to the field of American Studies. Awarded by the Heidelberg Center for American Studies for the Dissertation "Intermedial Satchmo: A Study of Louis Armstrong’s Jazz Autobiographics."

• 11/2010: "Christian-Gottlob-Heyne-Preis 2010" for the best Dissertation completed by a member of the Graduiertenschule für Geisteswissenschaften Göttingen (Graduate School of the Humanities Göttingen) in 2009. Awarded by the "Graduiertenschule für Geisteswissenschaften Göttingen."
