Research
Research profile
My research interests lie in the area of European integration, European public spheres, the sociology of European societies, contentious politics, social problems and civil societies. In particular, my research focuses on trust in governance, European solidarity, the impact of crises in the fields of migration/asylum, unemployment and disability and the discursive construction and diffusion of European policy ideas. In my Ph.D thesis I investigated the impact of CAP reform ideas on domestic media discourses in Spain and Germany and explored the differential responses in the discursive negotiation over the legitimate agricultural policy in Europe.
