JAPAN

Keio University: Keio Short-Term Japanese Studies Program (KJSP) 2026 

Date February 23 - March 7, 2026

Students must be nominated by the International Office of the University of Siegen by October 24, 2025 (9am, JST)

This program is no language program!

Eligible Students: Full-time undergraduate or graduate students
Program Capacity: 25 international students (in total, across all partner universities)

This program brings together around 15 Keio students and 25 international students from our university-wide student exchange partner universities to learn about Japan from various perspectives. It consists of 90-minute lectures (each including group discussions), activities, and presentation sessions. In the past years, participants have been mostly undergraduate students, with a few graduate students, from a variety of academic fields.

Keio University: Keio Summer Program 2026

Keio will welcome students only from its university-wide student exchange partner universities next summer for academic and cultural learning opportunities. This is a two-month, credit-bearing program held during the latter half of Keio's spring semester.

Further information will be sent in November. As our academic year starts in April, its program fee will be confirmed in December.

Meiji University: Short-Term Japanese Language Programme

Date 

February 2nd – February 13th, 2026 February 2nd – February 13th, 2026 

Application period:
October 3rd, 2026 – November 6th, 2026 (Japan Time).  

Topic

The programme will cover not only Japanese language study, but also project work and exchange activities with Meiji University students, Japanese cultural experiences, which will satisfy your learning needs.  

Elementary course (A2 level in CEFR scale) : JLPT N4 level  
This class is for students who are JLPT N4 level or equivalent. Students in this level are able to listen and comprehend conversations encountered in daily life and generally follow their contents, provided that they are spoken slowly.  
You CAN NOT apply to this class if you have no background in learning Japanese.  
   
Intermediate course (B1 level in CEFR scale) : JLPT N3~N2 level   
This class is for students who are JLPT N3~N2 level or equivalent. Students in this level are able to listen and comprehend conversations in everyday situations, spoken at near-natural speed, and state his/her own opinion.  
Those with an advanced level of Japanese are NOT eligible to apply. 
 

Fees

90,000 JPY

This program is approved by the JASSO (Japan Student Services Organization) scholarship program. Students from Meiji University partner institutions who meet the criteria set by JASSO can receive the scholarship (80,000 yen) at the end of the program. For details, please see the website.
