What is the 2G vignette and where can I get it?

In the winter semester 2021/22, participation in courses (including lectures and examinations) in attendance is only possible with proof of immunity (vaccinated or recovered) or a certified negative test certificate (3G rule). The test proof must not be older than 48 hours. This requirement also applies to visiting the dining halls and cafeterias on campus that reopen on October 1.

In order to simplify the control of the 3G rule, the University of Siegen introduces a "2G vignette".

What is the 2G vignette?

To facilitate 3G verification, vignettes are issued to immunized (recovered and vaccinated) university employees and are easily identifiable as a tamper-proof sticker on the back of the USiCard or chip key.

What is needed for the 2G vignette?

In order to receive the vignette, proof of immunization (proof of complete vaccination or recovery), an identification document (ID card or passport) and, for students, the personal USiCard must be presented once.

How long is the 2G vignette valid?

The vignette is valid for the duration of the winter semester 2021/22. No personal data will be stored.

Where can I get the 2G vignette?

Vignettes will be issued starting September 21st.

Distribution Point 1: Student Service Center (SSC) on the Adolf-Reichwein-Straße campus.

Hours for issuance: Monday through Thursday (9 a.m. to 2 p.m.) and Friday (9 a.m. to 12 p.m.).

Distribution Point 2: Corridor area US-D 053 on the Unteres Schloss campus (occupational health and safety rooms).

Hours for issuance: Monday to Friday (9 am to 12 pm).

From October 18: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (9 am to 12 pm).

Update 10-04-2021 4:30 pm

Additional awarding sites on campus locations will be added in the coming weeks. We will inform you about the details (exact location, opening hours) here immediately.

Do I have to use the 2G vignette?

The decision for or against the 2G vignette is of course voluntary. It is an offer of the university that can help to ease the control effort prescribed by the Corona Protection Ordinance and to avoid queues in front of lecture halls, seminar rooms or the refectory.

What does the vignette for employees look like and where is it affixed?

The 2G vignette for employees is affixed to the chip key. Since the chip key has the chip number on one side, the vignette is stuck on the other side.

For many employees, the university logo is already affixed here, as this serves as proof to identify oneself as an employee of the university in the catering businesses of Studierendenwerk Siegen.

The new 2G vignette will be stuck on top of this and will serve as proof in two ways in the catering establishments in the future. On the one hand, that the person is employed at the university ("employee ID"). On the other hand, that the person / the one has deposited proof of a complete vaccination or recovery (2G vignette).
