The workshop will be broadly disseminated through HiPEAC and EMSIG, especially addressing all partners of the European Mixed-Criticality Cluster, consisting of the large three European research projects DREAMS, PROXIMA, CONTREX and their associated projects EMC2, CRYSTAL, SAFURE and SAFEPOWER.
The EU-supported project Dreams has developed architecture and design tools for more powerful computing systems that can boost safety and efficiency in planes, eHealth devices, wind turbines and many more products.

In many domains such as avionics, industrial control, or healthcare, there is an increasing trend for mixed-criticality systems (MCS), where multiple functions with different importance and certification assurance levels are integrated using a shared computing platform. The foundations for this integration are mechanisms for temporal and spatial partitioning, with key technological challenges including the combination of software virtualization, hardware segregation and the extension of partitioning mechanisms to jointly address significant extra functional requirements (e.g., time, energy and power budgets, reliability, safety, security, etc.).
The goal of this workshop is to discuss the latest developments in the area of distributed real-time architectures for mixed-critical systems with a group of experts in the domain. Acquire latest information on mixed-criticality architectures and experience the technological results of the DREAMS project demo sessions, including several live demonstrations of the technologies. Take the opportunity to meet the experts in this field and benefit from discussions in small groups. Inform yourself about novel architectural trends and find out how to improve your architecture with fail-operational designs.
