In her PhD, Anabel Büchner focuses on dynamic conceptualizations of personality that are concerned with short-term changes in thoughts, feelings, and behavior. In contrast to established personality theories, dynamic approaches assume, for example, that some people can have two stable tendencies per personality dimension, so-called multiple "attractors", between which they switch back and forth in everyday life. Among other things, she investigates how two attractors can be estimated based on experience sampling data, whether they can also be captured in cross-sectional assessments, and what are the implications of multiple attractors.
