Your requirements

  • You can work as a student assistant (SHK) at the University of Siegen if you have not yet obtained a Bachelor's degree and are enrolled as a student at a German university.
  • The situation is similar for working as a research assistant with a Bachelor's degree (WHB). As the name suggests, a Bachelor's degree is required for this position. In this case, you must also be enrolled at a German university.

Your framework conditions

  • You may work as an assistant for a total of up to six years .
  • You may work a maximum of 19 hours per week (mini-jobs are possible).
  • From 01.04.2025, the remuneration per hour will be 14.00 euros (SHK) or 15.50 euros (WHB).

Current vacancies for assistants

You can find the current vacancies for student assistants in our job portal. Take a look at the notice board in your area of study when you get the chance - you will often find job advertisements there too.

You can send your application directly (preferably by e-mail) to the person named in the advertisement. A few tips:

  • Check that your documents are complete before sending them.

  • Choose a meaningful subject for your e-mail.

  • Name your attachments clearly (e.g. Mustermann/Musterfrau, Maxi_Lebenslauf.pdf) and save them in a common format.

You will then receive feedback as soon as possible after the application deadline has passed and all applications received have been checked.
