Presenting in English

Dear Students,

We would like to draw your attention to an exceptionally interesting course that the Language Center will be offering in February 2023. This is a course which will help you develop and improve your English presentation skills. Are you planning on or already preparing a conference presentation? Perhaps you’re not sure where to begin when it comes to presentations? If your answer to any of the above questions was “yes”, then this course is for you!

In this course, you will learn some important presentation techniques and how to avoid typical mistakes. Additionally, you will learn how to cite sources, the language of presentations and conferences, and how best to use visual aids such as PowerPoint, etc.

At the end of the course you will prepare and present your very own presentation. You will also participate in a challenge where you will present your research or presentation topic to a lay audience. The challenge will be to explain the research/ topic in a way that will be understood by people with different professional backgrounds. This will need to be done in 3 minutes!

The course will take place via Zoom and Moodle from February 20th to March 3rd. As this is an intensive course, the classes will take place every day from 10.00am to 12.30pm.

Please note that your English should be at B2 or C1 level in order to participate in the course. We will be offering placement tests.
