Vorlesungs-Start verschoben // Start of classes postponed
Der Vorlesungsbetrieb des Sommersemesters 2020 in NRW startet zwei Wochen später. Die Universität Siegen bereitet zudem eine Online-Lösung vor. // Classes in the summer term 2020 in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) will start two weeks later. The University of Siegen is also preparing solutions online.

Der Start in das Sommersemester 2020 an der Universität Siegen wird verschoben. Das Ministerium für Kultur und Wissenschaft (MKW) des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen hat diese Entscheidung am 13.03.2020 für alle Universitäten, Fachhochschulen und Kunsthochschulen in NRW getroffen. Hintergrund ist die aktuelle Entwicklung hinsichtlich der Verbreitung des Coronavirus national wie international.
Das Sommersemester beginnt regulär am 1. April, der Vorlesungsbetrieb wäre am 6. April gestartet. Der Start des Vorlesungsbetriebs wird um zwei Wochen verschoben, die Vorlesungszeit beginnt damit am 20. April. Jedoch wird die Vorlesungszeit nicht verlängert, sondern endet wie bisher geplant am 17. Juli.
Die Universität Siegen bereitet darüber hinaus für die ersten beiden Wochen der Vorlesungszeit – also ab dem 20. April – eine online unterstützte Selbstlern-Phase vor. Nähere Informationen zur Organisation und Durchführung dieser Phase werden den Hochschulangehörigen in Kürze mitgeteilt.

The start of the summer term 2020 at the University of Siegen has been postponed. The Ministry for Culture and Research (MKW) of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia has stipulated this on March 13, 2020 for all Universities, Universities of Applied Sciences and Art Schools in the state due to the current developments regarding the spread of the Coronavirus nationally and internationally.
The summer term regularly starts on April 1, classes would have started on April 6. The start of the lecture period will be delayed by two weeks, so the lecture period will now start on April 20. However, the lecture period will not be prolonged; it will end on July 17 as previously planned.
Moreover, the University of Siegen is preparing an online supported self-study phase for the first two weeks of the lecture period - i.e. from April 20 onwards. All members of the University of Siegen community will soon receive detailed information on the organization and implementation of this phase.
