Digital Public Health - Digital Biomedical and Health Sciences
The Study Program
This innovative and in Germany unique study program for health professions of the future imparts a broad knowledge from the fields of medicine, natural sciences, computer science as well as social and health sciences. It aims at a new occupational profile in the field of health care professions, in which academic specialists are trained interdisciplinarily with a focus on the challenges and opportunities of digitization. The course of studies makes it possible to focus on the natural, engineering or social sciences and thus offers a wide range of medical-related training opportunities. Prospective students should be communicative and open, as well as eager to learn and work in an interdisciplinary way. Approximately 60 percent of the course content uniform, regardless of the chosen focus and promote central knowledge and skills in the healthcare system. As the studies continue, the joint teaching content decreases and specialization in the direction of the selected focus increases.
Major Focal Points
The learning material in the focal point "Digital Public Health" covers epidemiology, methods and statistics, health inequalities, development policy, health care, work and health, health promotion and prevention, international health policy and public health mandatory courses, such as public health and development policy.
Graduates develop digital, technical, scientific and structural innovations that support treatment from person to person in an efficient and demand-oriented way.You will be able to work in various, exciting occupational fields, both constantly growing classical ones,as well as those, that emerge in future. Authorities, organisations and companies in the health care system, in health-related fields of activity in the media, politics and business, for international organisations such as the World Health Organisation/WHO or the Society for International Cooperation/GIZ are just some examples of possible sources of employment.
The study program can only be studied in the study model
with two core subjects. The first core subject is always
Digital Biomedical and Health Sciences, the second core subject
can be chosen - in this case the major is Digital Public
Admitted applicants select their major with binding acceptance at Hochschulstart.de and then register for both core subjects. A later change of focus is possible under certain conditions.
Subject to the adoption of the Fachprüfungsordnung, an application with Fachhochschulreife is permissible. International students please apply via STARTING, not via Hochschulstart.
