DAPHNE4NFDI
DAPHNE4NFDI is funded within the German National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI) by the DFG and develops FAIR data solutions for the photon and neutron scattering community in Germany. The consortium brings together partners from universities and large-scale research facilities, including the Universities of Siegen, Berlin, Kiel, Tübingen, Göttingen, Wuppertal, München, and Nürnberg, as well as DESY, Forschungszentrum Jülich (FZJ), FRM II, Hereon, ESRF, European XFEL, and EMBL.
DAPHNE4NFDI focuses on:
- FAIR and sustainable research data management
- Automated metadata capture and digital experiment documentation
- Repositories for raw and processed experimental data
- Reusable analysis software and workflows
- High-performance data analysis for large-scale research facilities
- Community-driven standards for photon and neutron science

Funding and Consortium Partners
DAPHNE4NFDI is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) as part of Germany’s National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI). The consortium has been funded since 2021 under DFG project number 460248799.
The project brings together universities, research institutes, and large-scale photon and neutron facilities across Germany. Its community is represented by the Committee Research with Synchrotron Radiation (KFS) and the Committee Research with Neutrons (KFN). DAPHNE4NFDI also cooperates with other NFDI consortia and European research-data initiatives to develop shared standards, repositories, software, and FAIR data workflows.
