This event addresses this situation and provides concise, structured guidance for individuals who are engaged in academic work at a university after completing their doctorate – regardless of whether they are aiming for a professorship, considering other career paths, or want to keep both options open.

The focus is on topics such as:

• current employment and qualification options at universities, particularly in the context of the Law on Fixed-Term Employment Contracts in Science (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz),
• possible career prospects within and outside the university and their typical requirements,
• the question of which qualification modules and experience (e.g. research, teaching, third-party funding, transfer, management) are relevant for different career options, and
• reflective consideration of individual goals, decision-making situations and next steps in the postdoctoral phase.
