Atlanta erleben: Lehramtsstudierende sammeln Auslandserfahrung

Our first interns in Atlanta!
With partial funding from the Halle Foundation and through the support of the Atlanta Global Studies Center, Lena Gläser and Olivia Dittmann are now spending 3 months at the Atlanta International School as part of their compulsory stay-abroad for their Lehramt degree.
Lena and Olivia have been supported by Khanh-Duc Kuttig and Marja Zibelius from the Seminar für Anglistik from preparation through to departure. The students also received support from the Atlanta representative of the Zentralstelle für Auslandsschulwesen, the German Consulate of Atlanta (which ran an online pre-arrival webinar) and the Georgia Department of Education. Through the cooperation of all participants, the internship experience is one that is filled with meaningful extra-curricular activities, enabling our students to see more than just what happens at the Atlanta International School. They get an insight into the work of the foreign office, meet local education officers and see the work of education from an administrative perspective.
They arrived in Atlanta on August 16 and will stay until mid-November. In addition to their work at the school, they will also attend the Day of German Unity celebrations hosted by the German Consulate of Atlanta, run a workshop for teachers of German in the Atlanta area, and go on cultural excursions organised by the school.
