Univ.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. Roman Obermaisser

Prof. Dr. Roman Obermaisser is full professor at the Division for Embedded Systems of University of Siegen. Roman Obermaisser has finished his doctoral studies in Computer Science with Prof. Hermann Kopetz at Vienna University of Technology as research advisor in 2004. In 2009, Roman Obermaisser received the habilitation ("Venia docendi") certificate for Technical Computer Science. His research work focuses on system architectures for distributed embedded real-time systems. Contributions range from conceptual models of component-based system architectures, to distributed algorithms for protocol transformation and fault-tolerance, to embedded operating system technologies, embedded AI and a multi-processor system-on-a-chip for safety-relevant applications. He is the author of numerous journal papers, conference publications and books. He has participated in national and international research projects ranging from fundamental research of embedded system techonologies to industrial research in different application domains (e.g., automotive, railway, industrial control, medical domain).
