Crash Course Public Speaking: Prepared or Not – How to Deliver Confident Presentations
Do you want to become confident in public speaking, improve your impromptu communication skills and learn how to give feedback in a constructive fashion? Many of us are nervous when it comes to speaking in front of an audience. But fortunately, there are ways to appear – and to become – more confident on the stage.
Contents of the Workshop
In this workshop, you will learn how to use body language, apply your voice, and interact with the audience for delivering appealing presentations. You will practice speaking in front of an audience both in prepared and spontaneous situations (e.g., the question session after your talk). You will learn how to keep the timing, smoothen transitions between topics and how to deliver a first impression that captures the audience’s attention. Additionally, you will practice an approach on delivering constructive, motivating feedback.
Please prepare a five-minute PowerPoint (or comparable, approximately five slides) presentation introducing yourself/your current research project/a topic you want to present for the workshop.
As places are limited, prior registration is required.
