Teacher Wellbeing and Whole-Person Learning: A Yukon First Nations Perspective

Däkäl’ama, Jocelyn Joe-Strack, is a Yukon First Nation’s scientist, storyteller, artist and visionary. Her work aims to evolve current theory-based approaches to education with whole-person learning - to build confidence, skill and inner knowing. Jocelyn will share stories, songs and create an immersive experience where participants will not just learn about these approaches but engage in them during the session.
In the context of teacher education, the session invites us to explore what whole-person learning can offer for teacher wellbeing: How can educators nurture their own sense of connection, confidence and inner knowing, and how might this shape the way they teach and relate to others? The session offers a space to experience and reflect on these questions rather than approaching wellbeing as a purely theoretical concept.

Das Future Skills Forum ist eine Reihe virtueller Vorträge und Workshops, die Zukunftskompetenzen in der Lehrkräftebildung fokussiert.
Seit dem Wintersemester 2025/26 finden pro Semester zwei bis drei digitale Veranstaltungen mit internationalen Gastdozierenden statt. Ziel der Reihe ist es, eine zukunftsorientierte und international vernetzte Ausbildung von Lehrkräften zu fördern und aktuelle Themen, Herausforderungen und Innovationen im Bildungsbereich zu beleuchten. Das Format ist eine Kooperation der „Lehramt.International“-Projekte an den Standorten Darmstadt, Freiburg, Gießen, Heidelberg, Jena, Ludwigsburg, Marburg, Passau, Potsdam, Siegen, Wuppertal und Würzburg.
Die Vorträge des Future Skills Forums sind für das LehramtPLUS-Zertifikat anrechenbar (2 AE pro Vortrag). Bei Teilnahme im Rahmen von LehramtPLUS bitten wir um eine kurze Anmeldung per E-Mail an breitkopf@zlb.uni-siegen.de bis 12:00 Uhr am jeweiligen Vortragstag.
