CHINA

TUB-Tongji Summer School 2026 in Shanghai

Das modular aufgebaute Programm richtet sich vor allem an Studierende der Wirtschaftswissenschaften und des Wirtschaftsingenieurwesens, steht aber auch anderen Fachrichtungen offen. Es kombiniert Vorträge renommierter China-Expert:innen mit interkulturellem Managementtraining, Fachkursen sowie täglichem Chinesisch-Unterricht. Exkursionen zu deutschen und deutsch-chinesischen Unternehmen sowie kulturelle Ausflüge in das Umland Shanghais runden das Programm ab.
Die Teilnahmegebühr beträgt 12.500 RMB (ca. 1.580 €) und umfasst unter anderem die Unterbringung im Hotel, die Programmgebühren, die Eintrittsgelder sowie alle programmbegleitenden Aktivitäten. Nicht enthalten sind die individuellen Flugkosten.

Université d'Orléans: Spring School on Advanced Imaging Techniques - From Data Acquisition to Deep Learning in Orléans 

May, 18 - 22, 2026

The program is designed for Master’s students, PhD candidates, and Erasmus+ students in physics, chemistry, and materials science. Limited to 24 participants, the Spring School offers a highly interactive learning environment and awards 5 ECTS credits.

Participants will gain:

  • A solid understanding of image formation principles (optical, electron, multispectral and hyperspectral imaging),
  • Practical skills in image processing and analysis, including filtering, Fourier transforms, and tomography,
  • An introduction to artificial intelligence and deep learning applied to imaging,
  • Hands-on experience using open-source tools such as FIJI/ImageJ, Python, and TOMVIZ,
  • Insight into industrial, medical, and academic applications of advanced imaging techniques.

JAPAN

Keio University: Keio Summer Program 2026 

Late May to the end of July 
Application Deadline: tba

Full-time undergraduate students are eligible to apply, 30 students in total, across all partner universities, are allowed to attend. 
Students must be nominated by the International Office of the University of Siegen by December 12, 2025 (9am, JST).
Only nominated students will receive a link to an online application form after the nomination deadline. Please note that not all nominated students may be accepted due to the limited capacity.
Keio will welcome students only from its university-wide student exchange partner universities next summer for academic and cultural learning opportunities. This is a two-month, credit-bearing program held during the latter half of Keio's spring semester.
Further information will be sent in November. As our academic year starts in April, its program fee will be confirmed in December.

Meiji University: Short-Term Japanese Language Programme

Summer Session: July 27, 2026 – August 7, 2026 
Application Period: from March 2 to April 5, 2026

Winter Session: February 1, 2027 – February 12, 2027
Application period: from early October to early November, 2026 

The programme will cover not only Japanese language study, but also project work and exchange activities with Meiji University students, Japanese cultural experiences, which will satisfy your learning needs.
The following two courses, "Elementary level" (JLPT N4 level/A2 level in CEFR scale) and "Intermediate level" (JLPT N3~N2 level, B1 level in CEFR scale) will be offered. Course for those who have not studied Japanese yet at all nor Advanced course will NOT be held.

Elementary level (A2 level in CEFR scale) : JLPT N4 level
This course is for students who are JLPT N4 level/ A2 level in CEFR scale or equivalent. Those who can apply for this level course in this level are able to listen and comprehend conversations encountered in daily life and generally follow their contents, provided that they are spoken slowly. Those who have no background in learning Japanese are NOT eligible to apply.

Intermediate level (B1 level in CEFR scale): JLPT N3~N2 level
This course is for students who are JLPT N3~N2 level/B1 level in CEFR scale or equivalent. Those who can apply for this level course are able to listen and comprehend conversations in everyday situations, spoken at near-natural speed, and state his/her own opinion. Those with an advanced level of Japanese are NOT eligible to apply.

Kanazawa University: Kinet Summer School on Environmental Research

The summer school provides small lecture on geography and geology of Noto peninsula, marine research activities, atmospheric research activities, radioactivity research lectures. the program fee amounts to 60,000.00 Yen and includes accommodation, the welcome reception and transportation between activity venues. The fee does not include round-trip travel expenses to and from Kanazawa. Additional travel insurance should be arranged.

Studienwerk für Deutsch-Japanischen Kulturaustausch in NRW e.V.: "Japan erleben"

Im Rahmen eines vierwöchigen Stipendienprogramms lernen die Teilnehmenden Japan, seine Lebensweise und Arbeitswelt kennen. Der Japanaufenthalt schließt eine Studienreise durch verschiedene japanische Städte – auch abseits der üblichen „Touristen-Pfade“ – und ein Kurz-Praktikum in Tokyo ein. In zahlreichen Terminen kommen die Stipendiaten mit jungen Japanerinnen und Japanern und Gesprächspartnern u.a. aus Wirtschaft, Politik und Kultur in Kontakt. Vorab findet in Deutschland eine inhaltliche sowie sprachliche Vorbereitung auf das Programm statt (Düsseldorf, voraussichtlich am 26.-27. August 2026). An- und Abreise nach Japan sowie zum Vorbereitungs- und Evaluierungsseminar in Düsseldorf sind selbst zu organisieren und zu finanzieren. Zusätzlich hierzu fallen eine finanzielle Eigenbeteiligung in Höhe von 750 Euro für Berufstätige bzw. 500 Euro für Auszubildende / Studierende sowie einige Nebenkosten vor Ort an.

The 4‑week program, led by distinguished professors from CNU and other leading universities, allows students to earn up to 6 credits while forming genuine friendships across cultures. Korean and international participants learn, travel, and explore Gwangju and other regions of Korea together, gaining a deeper understanding of the country’s authentic culture and building lifelong global networks. The fee is KRW 1,500,000.00 (approx. USD 1,050.00).
