The Department of Design and Design Theory represents the artistic teaching within the Department of Architecture.

In the Bachelor's degree course, students are introduced to essential design issues in the two- and three-dimensional area both theoretically and practically in a versatile basic course over three semesters. In the course "Draft and Design", which is part of the compulsory module "Context and Theory", Master's students develop independent projects on selected spatial issues using artistic strategies and working methods. Students on both degree programs can also devote themselves in depth to individual media and subject areas in the form of elective modules, which are often experimental and artistic in nature. The program is complemented by permanent and interdisciplinary projects.
