Through targeted investments in leading and emerging fields, Siegen remains agile in the face of new developments and reinforces its global reputation.

Cluster of Excellence
Colour meets flavor
The University of Siegen’s "Colour meets flavor" Cluster of Excellence, part of Germany’s prestigious Excellence Strategy, is driving innovative research in elementary particle physics. In collaboration with the Universities of Bonn and Dortmund, Siegen conducts internationally recognized research, drawing on its longstanding expertise in quark flavor physics. The Cluster of Excellence enhances the university’s research profile, supports early-career researchers, and establishes Siegen as a globally recognized center for outstanding physics.
